Thanks to our fabulous Dignity Grows Committee members - Jessica Siegel, Shellie Tapfar and Ilene Sumberg - we packed 100 tote bags filled with menstrual hygiene products at Temple Israel’s mitzvah day. Together, we are ending period poverty, one tote at a time. To join our effort, cover the cost of a $10 tote, host a pack or join our team click here: https://shalomct.org/dignity-grows/

In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day we welcomed survivors and their families to Federation’s HRC (Holocaust Resource Center) to commemorate International Holocaust Awareness Day. We heard from HRC Founding Educator, Shelley Kreiger, how it is more important than ever to build a network of first and second generation family members to share their relatives survival stories in our local communities and schools. We also had a chance to view the many Adopt-a-Survivor program storyboards that adorn the walls of the HRC. If you are interested in learning more about the HRC, please visit https://shalomct.org/holocaust-resource-center/
