The Jewish Federation of Greater Fairfield County improves lives every day through partnerships with humanitarian and educational organizations in our community, in Israel, and in the former Soviet Union.
In 2025, the combined generosity of thousands of donors to the Federation’s Annual Campaign provided funding to 24 recipient organizations working in the areas of social services, Jewish youth and continuity, post-October 7th Israel and war-ravaged Ukraine, and elderly Jews in the former Soviet Union.
ADL Connecticut plays an important role in supporting students, educators, employees, and families as well as schools, universities, synagogues and workplaces as they encounter instances of hate and antisemitism.
We funded ADL’s Incident Response, addressing increasing levels of antisemitism by providing education, resources, and support to the greater Fairfield County community.

BBYO inspires Jewish teens to find their people, shape their purpose, and lead their communities—supported by families, alumni, and partners who believe in the power of Jewish youth.
We funded BBYO Connecticut Valley Region chapters in Fairfield and Ridgefield.

Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy (Stamford) serves students from throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties in pre-K through grade 12.
We funded scholarships for students residing in the Federation’s service area and a Holocaust-education curriculum.

Emunah’s five children’s homes in Israel offer a lifeline to children who cannot live at home, as their parents are unwilling or unable to care for them.
We fund the “Ofek B'Emunah Home-Schooling Program” and the “Strengthening the Bond” family-education program at Emunah Afula Children’s Centre, which serves 120 at-risk children aged 6-18 in residential and after-school care.

Ethiopian National Project (ENP) works to ensure the full and successful integration of Ethiopian-Israelis into Israel society.
We funded ENP’s SPACE (School Performance and Community Empowerment) Scholastic Assistance Program, promoting academic growth and improvement by providing supplementary tutoring to students in small groups.

Israel Gay Youth is the only LGBTQ+ youth and young adult movement in Israel.
We funded a LGBTQ+ youth and leadership program in Afula-Gilboa, supporting youth activities including two youth groups, a drop-in center, a youth-guide program, and mental-health assistance for struggling queer youth.

We funded bus transportation from our service area to the JCC of Greater New Haven campus.

Ofanim was founded to provide equal educational opportunities to all children in Israel. Ofanim brings state-of-the-art mobile STEM labs to children in underserved areas.
We funded STEM enrichment programs on mobile labs in our partnership region of Afula.

UConn Hillel, the Center for Jewish Life at University of Connecticut Storrs campus, fosters inclusive and meaningful experiential opportunities to enrich the lives of students and help them explore Judaism and Jewish values on their own terms.
Our funding helped engage more Jewish students on campus in educational, cultural, religious and supportive programs.

Youth Futures is a social organization that nurtures and influences life paths for youth and their families in situations of risk and exclusion from all sectors of Israeli society through a community-based mentorship model that addresses all aspects of life.
We funded Youth Futures Afula, reaching 420 direct beneficiaries (children and parents) and 630 indirect beneficiaries (siblings of participating children).

Beit Uri is a unique residential and educational village in Afula that is home to more than 120 children, youth, and adults with multiple disabilities, including intellectual and physical disabilities, behavioral challenges and autism.
We funded a therapeutic horseback riding program for Beit Uri school pupils with sensory, emotional, physical, and cognitive disabilities.

Circle of Friends of Connecticut involves children, teens, young adults, and adults with autism and disabilities in a full array of inclusive social experiences, including home visits, play dates, and social programs, fostering friendships between individuals with special needs and community volunteers.
We funded social programs for youth and adults with special needs, together with their volunteers.

Friendship Circle of Fairfield County bridges the gap between special needs and typical youth through shared experience, empowers special-needs youth with the skills they need to live a productive and independent adult life, gives parents and families much-needed respite, and nurtures a sense of awareness and communal responsibility in our teens.
We funded Friendship Circle’s Bowling League for youth and adults with special needs, together with their volunteer friends and therapists.

Kesher Project celebrates Jewish life with mentally, emotionally, and/or developmentally challenged Jewish adults who reside in private or group homes in Fairfield County.
We funded the Kesher Project Drama Club.

Krembo Wings is a national youth movement for participants with and without special needs.
We funded the Afula-Gilboa branch at the Rosa Yizrael Community Center, a vital gathering place for 70 youth members, with and without disabilities, to build friendships, develop leadership skills, and foster inclusion in the local community.

Bennett Center for Judaic Studies at Fairfield University fosters continued learning experiences and campus-wide awareness about Jewish history, ethical values, and religious observances. It also seeks to engage the Greater Fairfield community through inspiring lectures and annual programs.
We funded programming, open to the university and greater communities, designed to cultivate understanding and empathy among diverse populations, including a film screening, a musical event, an annual program on the Holocaust, and a lecture.

Jewish Broadcasting Service is America’s Jewish non-profit television network covering the panorama of Jewish life. It is independent of any religious denomination or Jewish organization and is not a religious channel.
We funded “In the Spotlight,” an interview program featuring special guests in dialogue with Abigail Pogrebin, author journalist, and Tablet magazine podcast host.

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) offers aid to Jewish populations in central and eastern Europe and in the Middle East through a network of social and community-assistance programs. The JDC also contributes millions of dollars in disaster relief and development assistance to non-Jewish communities.
We funded humanitarian relief for elderly Jews in the Volga region of Russia.

Mozaic Senior Life provides a range of skilled-nursing and senior-care services in Bridgeport.
We funded Mozaic’s Pastoral Services Department, providing ongoing religious services, educational programming, Synagogue Assistant support, hospice support, and staff-wellness services.

Schoke Jewish Family Service of Fairfield County is an ever-changing, ever-evolving social-service agency that sustains families and individuals through all of life’s challenges and builds strong, healthy communities.
We funded a variety of services, including Holocaust Survivor Services, counseling, case management, emergency funding, volunteer services, the in-house and mobile kosher food pantries, the Home Companion program, and the summer-camp scholarship program.

Danbury Area Refugee Assistance (DARA) helps refugee families for four to six months in job-search, school enrollment, and adaptation to a new life and country. DARA is 100% volunteer-run, with no social organization or congregation providing financial backing or support.
Our funding helped resettle a refugee family of Afghan evacuees in the greater New Haven area.
Positive Directions – The Center for Prevention & Counseling is a non-profit behavioral health organization providing a continuum of prevention, counseling, and peer supports to individuals and families struggling with mental health or substance use disorders.
We helped fund a new Child and Adolescent Counselor for clients aged 6 to 17.
Haifa Rape Crisis Center supports survivors of sexual violence and their families, raises the awareness of sexual violence and its violence and its prevention, trains professionals in the subject of sexual violence and survivors’ trauma, and protects survivors’ rights.
We funded “Together,” an educational program in Afula for the prevention and detection of sexual abuse in children and youth.

Project Kesher invests in the development of women leaders in Ukraine and Israel who build Jewish community, promote the status of women, and advance civil society. With wars in both Ukraine and Israel, Project Kesher has diversified its investment to also address humanitarian needs, women-owned small businesses, and mental health. All work in foreign countries is implemented by independent, locally registered organizations and partners.
We funded mini-grants for women-owned small businesses in Ukraine and Hebrew-language courses for new immigrants and refugees in Israel.
