Resistance – They Fought Back

A PBS Program about Jewish Resistance to the Nazis

Facilitated by Manny Ratafia

Most people are unaware of the extent of Jewish resistance to Nazi barbarism. It’s widely believed “Jews went to their deaths like sheep to the slaughter.” Filmed in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Israel and the U.S., this film provides a much-needed corrective to the myth of Jewish passivity. Uprisings and rebellions occurred in ghettos and concentration camps, and thousands of Jews fought Nazis in the forests.
