Holocaust Resource Center

Holocaust Tattoos

Holocaust Resource Center opens in June 2023. It uses the lessons of the Holocaust to help students combat Holocaust denial and hatred of all kinds. The center has established strong partnerships with local school districts and organizations such as Holocaust Survivors of CT, JFS Anachnu Program, and the American Society for Yad Vashem to ensure meaningful Holocaust education and access to supporting resource material. The center houses an extensive library of teaching materials, books, reference texts, and media which are available to teachers, students and the community. The center also provides speakers to support Holocaust awareness. For more information, contact Carin.

Dignity Grows

Dignity Grows

Human dignity should not be considered a luxury, yet nearly 30% of menstruators in the U.S. suffer from period poverty, lacking the financial resources to purchase basic menstrual-hygiene necessities. This obstacle results in lost days of work and school, further compounding the cycle of poverty.

For a gift of only $10, you can donate a Dignity Grows Tote to a neighbor in need, providing the chance to live life uninterrupted while safeguarding dignity. Each tote is filled with a month’s supply of menstrual and hygiene products, It’s hope in a bag . .. a simple way to solve a serious problem. To host a packing party, join our committee or learn how you can be a part of the solution, contact Stacy.

Israel & Overseas

Israel & Overseas

Federation Israel and Overseas

Federation Israel and Overseas builds local community connections to Israel, funds and helps implement overseas designated projects, and participates in the collective support for world Jewry. The Federation builds connections to Jewish life overseas through local programming, through our vibrant people-to-people connection with the Afula-Gilboa region in Israel and by allocating funds to service partners in collective support of world Jewry.

Federations also play an important role in helping Ukraine. To date, more than $90 million dollars have been raised by Federations across the country to support our partners on the ground. With our help, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the Jewish Agency for Israel, World ORT, Hatzalah and Hillel continue to get lifesaving support to Ukrainians staying put, crossing the border into Poland, and making their way to other European countries or Israel.

Contact Carin for more information.

Federation Israel Emissary Program

Federation Israeli Emissary Program

The Israeli Emissary Program is a true Living Bridge between our countries and our communities. It is through them that we stay connected to Israel as a whole and our partnership region specifically. Their home base is the Federation office where much of their brainstorming and creativity takes place. Through hands-on activities in our preschools and religious schools to thought-provoking community-wide discussions and programs, our emissaries keep Israel alive right here in Greater Fairfield County.

In building relationships and bringing their message of connection, their work in the public schools and civic organizations is a high priority. They are ‘The Face of Israel’, creating unique relationships through programs, events and appearances throughout the community.

This year, we are thrilled to welcome back Ofek Mosovich as our post-Army Shaliach. Ofek served our community as a young emissary in 2017/18 and after completing his IDF service, is returning to serve as our Shaliach for the year.
